A hot end to June in the UK brings Sgt Fury home among friends, providing the entertainment at the 50th birthday of one of our own (in a broader sense than just the 3 of us herberts that ponce about on stage). "Family" gigs can always seem a little awkward, as doing "the rock star thing" (you know, all that stage play-acting and slinging guitars around) in front of people that have known you for hundreds of years can just get a little odd.
On the other hand, you get to play music for a bit, and spend the rest of the time catching up with people you haven't seen for an age. So, on aggregate, it's all good, and the awkwardness goes eventually.
So, happy birthday Caroline - I hope we didn't hit too many bum notes (that you noticed...)!
